Cuttack-A thrashed Cuttack-B in the high-scoring final by 10 wickets to emerge champions in the Under-19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Barabati Stadium here today. The four-day match ended in two days, producing a total of 1157 runs. As many as 644 runs were scored off 106 overs on the opening day itself.
In reply to Cuttack-B’s first innings total of 327, Cuttack-A declared at 453 for eight. Trailing by 126 runs in the first innings, Cutack-B made 249 in the second essay, thanks to a half-century each by Mohammad Akram, Pratik Anurag Das and Pradip Das. Kanhu Behera was most successful Cuttack-A bowler, scalping six wickets for 46 runs. Chasing 124 for win, Cuttack-A capitalised on an unbeaten half-century each by Sandip Kar and Debapriya Patnaik to romp home in 18.2 overs.
